We attempt to track all sequenced plant genomes which have been published in recognised peer-review journals. We currently provide the data only for the first publication of each plant, even though in some cases subsequent re-sequencing publications may result in a superior assembly.

We provide a timeline view and a phylogentic tree for both angiosperm and non-angiosperm which allows browsing of all currently sequenced plant genomes. links are provided to the original publication for the genome.

If you see see there are some ommisions/errors please add a commend on our forum

We provide some additional information on plant species which have a special interest within the group:-

  • Solanum pennellii is a wild tomato species endemic to Andean regions in South America, where it has evolved to thrive in arid habitats. Because of its stress tolerance and unusual morphology, it is an important donor of germplasm for the cultivated tomato Solanum lycopersicum.
